Friday, April 18 @ 7pm

Tenebrae - "The Service of Shadows" - remembers Christ's death on the cross with increasing the extinguishing of lights from our Sanctuary and the stripping of the altar until it is bare.

These sacred symbols remind of the boundless love that God has for us - that Jesus was willing to die for our sake to change the world.

30 Hour Famine

posted Jan 12, 2014, 1:10 PM by David Czeisel   [ updated Jan 18, 2014, 1:04 PM ]

April 25-26, 2014 at the Village Church of Bayville

World Vision's 30 Hour Famine is fun, meaningful way to save lives by combating global hunger. We don't think it's right that children are dying everyday because they can't get something most of us take for granted - a loaf of bread or a bowl of rice!

So to do something about this human problem, we are looking for youth to get people to sponsor them to fast for 30 consecutive hours. $35 can feed a child for a month!

During the hours of the Famine, we'll be staying overnight at the church, playing games, learning about the problem of world hunger, and doing a community service project.

Youth in grades 6-12 may participate.
